A Battlestar Wiki pretende ser uma fonte de informação detalhada e fidedigna para uma obra ficcional. Devido à natureza própria das wikis, onde todos podem contribuir, e às interpretações subjectivas implícitas a obras de ficção, é vital citar fontes e verificar factos. A página deste projecto dedica-se a definir o que pode ser considerado informação comprovada ou informação de fontes oficiais relativamente a personagens, eventos e situações na saga Battlestar Galactica


Preâmbulo

O objectivo da Battlestar Wiki não é discutir a legitimidade de fontes não oficiais, mas sim fornecer e disponibilizar informação válida. Apenas citações de fontes oficiais como o Sci Fi Channel, o Ronald D. Moore, e elenco ou equipa da Série Original ou da Série Reinventada serão aceites. Qualquer informação veiculada por outras fontes será imediatamente apagada da wiki.

O desrespeito contínuo desta regra incorrerá sanções por parte de um administrador.


Fontes

Por ordem de fiabilidade:

  1. Conteúdo de um episódio emitido, incluindo "cenas extra" da terceira temporada da Série Reinventada.
    • TWIZ TV é uma boa fonte para transcrições de episódios das temporadas 1 e 2 da Série Reinventada.

A ordem pode ser alterada quando existir informação comprovada de fontes especializadas. Factos apresentados nos episódios têm precedência aos comentários dos produtores; os erros de filmagens e bloopers devem ser ignorados.

Caso um comentário venha a ser desmentido em informações posteriores, dá-se prevalência à informação actual, deixando uma nota na página Erros de Continuidade (RDM).


'Lista de fontes não fiáveis

  • Battlestar Wiki. Qualquer informação que não tenha sido confirmada pessoalmente pode não ser fidedigna.
    • Excepto as informações fornecidas pelas Sources: e comentários do elenco ou equipa nos Comunicados Oficiais
  • Wikipedia. Sempre que a informação não for devidamente citada.
  • IMDB. Sempre que a informação não for devidamente confirmada.
  • Scifipedia. Esta nova wiki, gerida pelo Sci Fi CHannel, utiliza frequentemente informação da Battlestar Wiki como fonte.
  • Páginas de Fãs onde não são indicadas as fontes, tais como Battlestar Galactica Tech Manual, Colonial History, Galactica Station, TV.com
  • Fontes anónimas, incluindo aqueles que citam fontes anónimas. A validade destas forntes não pode ser comprovada.

Por esta razão, é possível adicionar a um artigo informações que contribuam para a intriga, desde que baseado em eventos lógicos e actuais, personagens e afirmações de fontes oficiais. A isto chama-se conteúdo derivado. Há duas formas de conteúdo derivado: especulação plausível e dedução lógica.


Especulação

A Especulação baseia-se nas atitudes ou afirmações das personagens para explicar as suas motivações ou a direcção possível da trama. No caso de falta de informação de fontes oficiais, pode contribuir para a reflexão e discussão sobre os assuntos apresentados num artigo, quando devidamente apresentada e justificada. A especulação é a única fonte de informação para conteúdos relativos à Série Original, visto que há poucas fontes oficiais disponíveis para consulta ou pesquisa desde que a série terminou.


Dedução Lógica

Para a Dedução Lógica contribui a informação disponível nas várias fontes oficiais, mesmo quando o assunto não seja directamente discutido numa mas sim em várias fontes.
