Officer of the Deck

The OOD, or Officer of the Deck, is the senior officer in the CIC below the Commander and XO (Scattered), and generally carries out or relays the command officer's orders. In the absence of a command officer, the OOD will have the conn.

Aboard the Galactica, this function is usually carried out on screen by Lieutenant Gaeta
