Two Caprican Marine aircraft outside Caprica City.

The Caprican Marine Corps employs various aircraft in the years prior to the First Cylon War, including Vipers and vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft.

Fifty-eight years before the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, the Caprican Military dispatch two of these aircraft to pursue an escaped Cylon prototype from Graystone Industries, among them a Phoenix-type jet (CAP: "End of Line").

Some months later, a squadron of U-87 Cyber Combat Units operate several Marine aircraft in an assault on Soldiers of the One terrorists, landing on the field of Atlas Arena and engaging the attackers in a firefight (CAP: "Apotheosis").

These vehicles employ DRADIS technology (CAP: "End of Line", "Apotheosis").

Notes

  • One of the Caprican Marine Aircraft seen in "End of Line" is identified in materials created by Doug Drexler for 2010 Emmy Awards voters as a Phoenix jet, which also appears in Caprica as several civilian aircraft. [1]
  • The second VTOL has gone unnamed, but can be seem in "End of Line" and "Apotheosis". It appears to be comprised of elements of modern military aircraft including the SH-60 Seahawk and the Boeing V-22 Osprey.
