Colonial Auxiliary Fleet

The Colonial Auxiliary Fleet[1] is an organization dating back to at least the First Cylon War that controls most of the replenishment and military transport ships of the Colonial Fleet.
Overview
Consisting of support ships, cargo ships, Tylium refineries, miners, and repair ships, The Colonial Auxiliary Fleet supported Colonial Battlestar Groups while they were away from port, and were often deployed to the front lines, despite being unarmed. Several ships of the Auxiliary Force were even hidden away beyond enemy lines, when called upon ("Blood and Chrome").
Fleet Status
Despite the Cylon War being long over, the Colonials still found use for these ships, and many were kept around, even 40 years later. A handful of these vessels escaped destruction after the Fall of the Colonies, by escaping the Colonial systems with battlestar Galactica ("Miniseries").
